My Latest Craigslist Purchase

This is my newest addition to our BBQ Family
It even came with a cover
My BBQ finally was going out on us, and gas was coming out of the front control knob. I do like the charcoal taste however sometimes it just takes too long for my busy schedule. We are going to take a camping trip to "Bear Lake" on July 10th however since my BBQ went haywire, and I was going to take that with us, and now it was on the fritz, what I was going to do.
My brother Marty, introduced me to this wonderful website called Craigslist. And Craigslist has changed my life. ha ha. I check on it all the time and I have found many a great bargain by doing so. So anyway, I was checking craigslist and I found this little beauty, only used a handful of times and in great condition for only $25.00, "WHAT A STEAL". I had paid for mine about 3 years ago and I paid $170.00 (and that was on sale), so with this one it came with the cover and a place for the spices and even a brand new spatula. It is very clean and the grills look brand new. The lady said that they didnt know how to use it very well and they preferred Charcoal cause it was easier to use. I said "Great, we will take it". We loaded it up and now we have a new BBQ Grill for a fraction of the cost. It even has a side burner too. So now we have another BBQ to take to Bear Lake. Yea!
Take a look at http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/ You too can find some great deals. We have bought a bedroom set, a dishwasher, a car, a lawnmower, a finish nailer, and now the BBQ! We got great deals on all of them. Check it out.

Storm Mountain

This is the view from Storm Moutain
Another mountain view from Storm Mountain
The wild flowers growing in the Mountains

Linda and Jim came to visit us from San Antonio but they kind of had a hard time getting here via Southwest Airlines and flying non rev is not too much fun, especially this time of year. They had a small detour in Phoenix, and had to spend the night there, but they did finally get here. We had a great time while they were here, we got to go to Storm Mountain and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air and the cool mountain water flowing nearby. We took a picnic up there and ate and enjoyed each others company and the mountain scenery. That is one of the great close getaways right here in town. Linda also was wanting to eat at Sweet Tomatoes as they do not have those restaurants in San Antonio, so we did get to do that and we all enjoyed it as well. Even though they only had one and a half days here we got to do a few things while they were here and Linda even got her hair done by her favorite hairdresser while in town as well. We also went downtown and went past the arts festival and do the mountain view from above the Capital, and and while we were doing that we saw this Old Lady rocking out in her car downtown, it was so funny, we laughed and laughed, cause it was so weird to see an old lady jamming out to the tunes in her car or "ROCKIN TO THE OLDIES" or whatever. People are crazy or I guess like the old saying is "THE FREAKS COME OUT AT NIGHT".

My Little Garden

This is my little Jalapeno Growing. How Cute
These are my Tomatoes they are getting bigger.
I have two bell peppers now! Wow!
Today I went back to the store and got a couple of other items. I will be adding some fresh basil to the little garden, as well as some Cilantro. I got some starter Cilantro and some seed to grow some as well. So I will keep my fingers crossed to see how that works out for me. I will keep you posted as to how it all turns out. I have all the makings for salsa, except for the onion and garlic. I don't think I will even go there, looks like I will have to get that from Harmons or Smiths. ha ha

Lagoon and Missing my Dad

Yesterday Sierra and I went to Lagoon, man it was so hot, but Sierra managed to keep cool by running in the water fountains that they have there. She got on tons of rides and loved the musical productions that they have there at the park. They had like a Disney kids musical production called Rockin U2 the top, that she loved, and we also saw a musical production called O Broadway that she liked as well. I did not take my camera, so we have no photos. Sorry folks. Oh well. But she did have a great day despite her missing her dad, because he went to the College World Series in Omaha, with Andrew his middle son. So all in all we had a great time, even though she thinks she cannot live without her Dad. Sierra had a hard time the first day or two that he was gone, and is still sleeping with his pillow on his side of the bed, but I think she has gotten a little better today and yesterday, but he will be back tomorrow, and she can hardly wait.

The Hot Tub

We finally got the Hot tub going, since it has been sitting in our driveway for at least a year. We got the concrete poured and the hot tub in. Andrew put in the electrical, and we fixed the broken pump. We inherited the hot tub from my sister in law Zenaida and my brother in law Joe. They had a broken pump and didnt want to mess with it, and gave it to us. We have really enjoyed so much, so far. Now the Grandkids and Kids are over our house all the time to get their soak in. We love to go in it at night, that is the best time to get in, its not so hot and the lights are so pretty in it. But we have visitors during the day too, and we get in then too. The day photo has Dave my husbands two boys Tony and Andrew and their children, Braxton, Mikka, Dylan, and Whitney, and my daughter Sierra too, they have a blast in it everytime. The night photo just has Dave my husband and Sierra my daughter, soaking in it looking at the stars. Very wise choice to put that hot tub in. If you ever have the chance to own one. DO IT, it feels so good and it makes you sleep like a baby. After a long day in the "Y" it feels so good and my feet aren't killing me or my back either after a nice soak in the tub.

Bell Peppers, Jalapenos and Tomatoes

My Tomatoes are getting so big, I cant believe it. Yesterday I looked at my bell pepper and it was just a flower, and today its actually a little bell pepper. That is so amazing.

My Tomatoes

I decided since we put all the dirt in the garden from digging out the dirt and putting in the concrete in for the hot tub, I would plant some tomatoes in pots. Boy have they grown. They have grown by leaps and bounds. I have like 9 tomatoes total on my plants, and I am so excited. I love home grown tomatoes, and to watch them grow like crazy, is so exciting. Sierra and I water them like twice a day so that they can grow quickly. Sierra is having a fun time watching them grow, since she has never really seen this. This is a great learning experience for her, that you have to take time and patience and you just dont go buy this stuff at the store and it appears. She is learning first hand, how exciting it is to see your plants grow and have fun taking care of them.
